Online bingo’s popularity seals new jobs for the North-East

Online bingo operator Tombola.co.uk has announced that due to the popularity of its site, it will be creating over 60 jobs in the North-East. Tombola.co.uk is now one of the largest online bingo sites in the UK, with over 15,000 players and giving away a whopping £2 million in prizes every week.

Online bingo has seen a huge boom in recent years, due to the accessibility of the internet and through successful advertisements, promotions and prizes. Tombola.co.uk has benefited from this popularity and has so far created 30 jobs this year at its Sunderland headquarters, and plans to create another 30 in the next couple of months; this will take its workforce up to 130.

Marketing manager at Tombola.co.uk Dawn Clayton said: “We are thrilled with the way online bingo players across the UK have responded to our fun approach to online entertainment and now we’re in a great position to share our success with job-seekers in this region.”

The new job creations are proof that the online bingo industry is thriving, despite the credit crunch and current economic climate and a ray of hope for jobseekers in the North-East.
