Channel Five is set to launch its own online bingo and casino site after they brokered a deal with the online gaming company PartyGaming. The new online service is planned for launch in the second half of this year and will be operated by PartyGaming but branded for Channel Five.

The gaming deal is Channel Five’s latest plan to build upon its digital business, which it hopes to provide revenue streams online. Five has already moved onto the internet through its video on demand service Demand Five, where users can watch and download their favourite Channel Five programs.

In a statement Channel Five’s chief executive Dawn Airey said: “Five is looking aggressively at how to expand its presence in digital media, both in terms of its core broadcast content as well as allied offerings that reflect the channel’s unique sense of dynamism and fun.”
