Advertising Standards Agency removes Tombola Bingo adverts

The Advertising Standards Agency (ASA) has ordered Tombola Bingo to remove two of its adverts due to them being unsuitable because they ‘appeal to children. The two adverts created for Tombola Bingo, which is one of the most popular online bingo websites in the UK will now be removed from its promotions due to having just one complaint.

The ASA deemed that the adverts, which included a funfair scene with roller coaster ride, a hot air balloon and battleships, appealed to younger audiences and children and went against the UK Gambling Commissions regulations on gambling advertisements.

Representatives from Tombola Bingo argued that the adverts reflected its latest bingo games and promotions saying that their, “intention was to create ads that acted as a metaphor for the online bingo experience and which would attract new bingo players but not attract a younger audience”.

The ASA ruled against the online bingo site and the two adverts have been removed.
